A selection of what we feel are essential records from the past and present (in no particular order).

The original vinyl pressing is hard to come by, thank God for reissues. This is THE definitive boogie album. Looking at the cover I mistook this for some corny disco ting and didn't bother to check it out. Man I was hurting when I realised what it was. Leroy Burgess at his very best. Touch each track an you'll find a boogie anthem. This recording was championed by the legendary London DJ Paul 'Trouble' Anderson.

A modern day masterpiece by the one called I.G Culture. This album is in a different league to the other West London long players. Stands it's ground to the present day. Great songs with musicianship gives this title longeivity. IG's favoured voice Eska Mtungwazi is joined by Frank McComb who plays keys and sings on "The Sun". Every track is a winner. Title track Download This, Penny Dropped and Mass Car Raid (a future jazz dance classic, though you don't know it yet) to me, are the most useful in a club situation. Though take your pick. There are many excellent songs that work. Great listening. Seek and go buy.
